NETWORK CLOUD ENGINEER
Our financial client is seeking a Network Cloud Engineer with hands on sysops and cloud services experience to assist in architecting & supporting our mission critical global network infrastructure and SaaS services on the AWS public cloud. In this role, you’ll be working with the TechOps team on test and production environments, perform monitoring, review configuration management, as well as participate in releases, maintenances, and on call responsibilities. This position requires an individual who is an accomplished engineer with experience in network engineering and public clouds, supporting large scale distributed systems & technologies, where uptime and continuous availability is core to the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as a key member of the TechOps team while architecting high availability network solutions, managing overall network health & capacity managing telephony services, and improving performance for the company’s SaaS services • Participate in supporting their global AWS infrastructure, deployments of new features, monitoring systems and troubleshooting application or service issues • Configure AWS VPC, subnets and routings, Direct Connect, NNI, MPLS, BGP, VPN Tunneling, Peering, Cloud SBCs (Kamailio, Oracle SBC, & AudioCodes). • Plan, schedule, and implement network maintenance activities which include standing up new regions, working with partners or vendors on network infrastructure changes • Automate the provisioning of cloud network infrastructure to support the agile development of cloud-native services • Network incident and problem management, internal and external customer-driven changes, network testing, developing new network solutions, and break-fix troubleshooting • Administration and management of Linux systems, and AWS services as Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB, S3, LBs, ElastiCache, ECS • Create network connectivity diagrams and work with Engineering teams to define and document network standards and architecture • Network security review/hardening and participate in yearly SOC2 and ISO audits • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
EXPERIENCE
• 5 years’ plus experience in a hands-on network engineering and operations role managing public Cloud Services (AWS, GCP) • 3 years’ plus experience working in an AWS environment with S3, EC2, CloudWatch, VPC, ELB/ALB, Route53 and RDS • Understanding of networking and cloud technologies and experience with large scale internet application architectures, clustering, high availability, virtualization, and networking • Experience with the use and implementation of monitoring and management frameworks, for cloud or physical network infrastructure • Experience with ISO, SOC2, or PCI compliance networking & security standards • Troubleshooting experience including IP fundamentals, DNS, load balancing, proxies and firewalls • Hands-on development and scripting skills for network automation and management • Experience with Linux / UNIX systems administration including shell scripting, database configuration & management and managing server infrastructures EDUCATION: • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline • Certifications in Cloud Technologies & Networking is a plus.
