GLOBAL SOFTWARE LEAD TRADING APPLICATIONS
One of our financial clients is seeking a lead software engineer to be part of an agile team delivering technology to a trading desk. The primary focus will be the development of a new framework based on the latest technologies. This experienced individual must have a proven track record of developing quality software.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in architecture, design and development of quantitative applications
- Key accountabilities include development, modeling, and implementation
- Continuous improvement of processes, product development, product quality, and technology
- The successful candidate will take ownership of one or more key parts of the applications
Qualifications/Skills:
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in developing software in a complex, data-driven domain.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Java 8+
- Knowledge in C# would be advantageous
- Understanding of messaging technologies and hands-on experience with Redis is a plus
- Good understanding of Multi-Threading/Concurrency
- Domain knowledge of Equities Electronic / Algorithmic Trading, and/or Analytics
- Proficiency with computer technologies including Linux, and networking
- Excellent listening, written, analytical, strategic, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work productively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Independent thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Mathematics, Physics or computer science higher education
- Experience designing database schemas SQL and NoSQL
- Strong understanding of Kafka, Microservices, REST/XML/JSON
