IT SUPPORT TECH

The IT Support Technician reports to the Technology Services Director and is responsible to provide Tier 1 technical support for all help desk calls. The incumbent is responsible for setting up equipment for the Board meetings, Conference, and is on-call technical support for meetings off premises.  The incumbent provides excellent customer service in person or remotely while responding to and resolving computer and printer hardware and software issues in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include creation and sending out the email blasts. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides technical support for the entire organization, including hardware and software implementation and updates, login access, rebuilding and/or deploying of computers and peripherals.

 

  1. Provides Tier 1 technical support; troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve desktop hardware and software issues/problems in a timely manner with minimum downtime. Delegate Tier 2 issues to appropriate IT personnel.

 

  1. Provides off-site technical support during board meetings to the employees and board members.

 

  1. Configures, tests, installs and maintains computers, laptops and desktop printers.

 

  1. Supports the roll-out of hardware and software upgrades; performs basic maintenance of databases and individual computers. Maintains and updates technology equipment list.

 

  1. Performs testing and installation of new and upgraded application and database software ensuring minimum interruption to employee.

 

  1. Participates in cost-effective productivity improvement projects.

 

  1. Participates and implements projects as instructed by supervisor.

 

  1. Works with all members of the IT team and act as a backup for the IT Projects Assistant.

 

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of desktop computer hardware maintenance.

 

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite applications and general database knowledge as well as MAC operating systems.

 

  • Strong professional interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
