Senior Information Security & IT Risk Team Lead

Our financial client is looking for an experienced Team Lead with strong IT Risk and Security platform experience to help lead the team to the next level. You will have direct reports which will be responsible for IT Risk and Security software, hardware and process as well as BCP/DR.

Responsibilities:

  • Concentrate on the Strategy and Vision of the group for IT Risk and Security as well as BCP/DR
  • Communicating the Strategy, Vision, and Quality efforts to the Business and Technology management.
  • Manage the workflow of a team of technology professionals who engineer, configure, implement, maintain, and support the IT Risk and Security platforms. The individual will oversee complex project management activities. 
  • Delivering metrics and ensuring the team is properly trained; reducing and eliminating any single person dependencies.
  • Lead a team responsible for IT Risk and Security, as well as BCP/DR functions
  • Communicate to the business on status of projects and support
  • Quality – ensure proper standards are met
  • Delegate and Review Projects
  • Management of Weekly updates of Projects
  • Manages hardware and software life cycles to limit or avoid end of life or end of support milestones for IT Risk and Security               
  • Keeps up to date with new technology development and implementations
  • Works with vendors by negotiating contracts and ensuring adherence to contract terms, and developing vendor relationships that benefit the organization
  • Researches and recommends tactical and strategic enhancements for IT Risk and Security environment
  • Manages the operation of the team, mentoring, and developing staff members, and reviewing and appraising their performance
  • Provide regular, timely progress reporting to the Head of Systems Infrastructure
  • Provide updates and status to senior management (e.g. Quarterly IT Risk and Security Committee)
  • Expert understanding of IT Risk and Security solutions; Archiving of all project documentation into companywide repository

 

Qualifications:

  • 10 - 15  years of experience in a Financial organization as a manager of IT Risk and Security, as well as BCP/DR
  • Demonstrated experience managing, end to end, design, definition, and delivery of IT Risk and Security solutions in-line with strategic goals
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Strong Communication/Presentation skills (written and oral) in cross-cultural business environment
  • Knowledgeable with Systems Infrastructure (Market Data, Windows, Linux, Database, Network, Telecom, SAN) technologies
  • Capacity to integrate business requirements within a changing Regulatory environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in converting user requirements into usable technical specifications
  • Leading and facilitating working group discussions with Technology and the Business
  • Willing to work additional hours to meet extraordinary deadlines according to standard industry practice when required
  • Strong experience and expertise with IT Risk and Security solutions and vendors

                          - IT Risk and Security Training

                          - Next Generation End Point Detection

                          - Threat Hunting
                          - Web and Email Security
                          - GRC
  • Strong work ethic with focus on meeting deadlines and objectives
  • Ability to manage company wide - strategic projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members, and management
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power Point
  • Bachelor's degree. Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
