INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER

 

OVERVIEW

 

 One of our non financial clients in New Jersey is looking for an experienced  Infrastructure Manager with short and long term insight and goals for a successful Organization.

 

Job Overview

 

Responsible for overseeing the stable operation of the  technology infrastructure in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. Plans, designs, coordinates and manages infrastructure technology related activities of the organization, as well as provide direction and support for daily infrastructure operational activities of the IT department. Works closely with the Director of Technology and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Contributes to the definition and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Acts as an engineering and architecture resource.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Designs and implements short and long-term plans and roadmaps to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements. Participates in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with other IT managers and the executive team. Sets direction and policy for the regarding technology platforms, partners, and practices. Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of infrastructure procurement and development efforts. Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. Prepares & manages RFPs, contracts, scopes of work, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts. Determines, negotiates and administers vendor, outsourcer, and consultant for infrastructure -specific contracts and service agreements. Manages and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including physical & virtual servers, networking, storage, database systems and physical infrastructure. Manages or mentors various projects related to infrastructure upgrades, improvements, and other conversions. Defines and develops Infrastructure hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders. Establishes standards and monitors server and network performance and provide performance metrics and reports. Develops policies and procedures supporting responsible infrastructure system lifecycles. Manages operational costs while continually improving performance for price metrics in accordance with technology advancements. Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures. Manages compliance aspects of infrastructure and data center in support of HIPAA and Internal Controls. Provides on-Call 24x7 support of network outages and degradation of service.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field and three to five years of previous work related experience. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) required. Must have a solid working knowledge in WAN/LAN, storage, Windows and Linux server platforms, virtualization technologies, Citrix, Directory and email services. Work requires analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources and apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
