SENIOR SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER
|
Overview of Role Protect high standard of the company software by certifying systems for new releases of the applications and supporting systems. Lead the manual, system, load and performance testing/certification effort for projects. Troubleshoot difficult problems for other groups in the organization. Research field issues and potential solutions for upcoming projects. |
Represent the group in requirement, specification, and design review meetings and contribute constructive feedback to the presenters in the group’s area of expertise.
„h Assist specification group in creating business requirements and functional specifications in areas of expertise.
„h Create test tools to perform API level testing
„h Perform Load and Performance Testing for C / C++, Java and Adobe Flash based applications.
„h Create status and test result reports for management and represent the group in status meetings.
„h Estimate certification effort for projects and ad-hoc testing requests.
„h Create, modify and execute test plans and cases to verify published business requirements and functional specifications.
„h Determine and execute appropriate system-side testing for each project outside of requirements.
„h Troubleshoot issues encountered during testing and assist groups in problem analysis.
„h Perform research and development in response to business or technical needs of projects.
„h Build, install and fallback software releases and database schemas in lab environments.
„h Certify operational deployment and end-user documentation.
„h Certify industry-standard and the company proprietary input and output feeds of the system.
„h Produce distribution media and ensure successful turnover of media and documentation to Operations.

· Knowledge of Mercury Interactive suite of automated testing tools (LoadRunner/Performance Center, QTP and Quality Center) „h Working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols. „h Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. „h Working knowledge of SQL – can create ad-hoc queries to verify test results or troubleshoot issues. Oracle DBA-type experience a plus. „h Programming experience, preferably C/C++, Java and shell scripting. „h Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. „h Knowledge of software methodologies (Agile and Scrum)

Qualifications & Experience „h Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, master’s degree preferred. „h At least 4 years relevant experience on Systems testing, Load and Performance testing for C/ C++, JAVA and Adobe Flash based applications „h 4 years’ experience with manual testing. „h Knowledge of foreign exchange/banking and market data industries „h Minimum 7 years of work experience in the Information Technology industry. „h Working knowledge of de facto industry standard software (Oracle, HP OpenView, etc.) a plus. „h Knowledge of Networking Concepts is preferable. „h knowledge on Tervela or any MQ messaging is preferable „h knowledge on Google protocol buffer (GPB) and FIX/FAST is preferable „h knowledge on configuring VM on both Windows and Linux platforms
