NETWORK SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR

 

Our financial client is looking for a Network Security Administrator  with experience and  responsibility for supporting firewalls and related network security solutions for the organization. This includes the on-going maintenance and management of firewall and related hardware and software that secures the organization's network, analyzing and troubleshooting problems and monitoring for potential network security problems or incidents.
 

 Duties include:
·Perform configuration, maintenance and support of Checkpoint firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls and related network security infrastructure, including:
Configuration of firewall rulebase and objects
Configuration of system- and network-related parameters
IDS/IPS configuration, updates and tuning
User administration and/or configuration of authentication systems
Implementation of upgrades and enhancements
ForeScout CounterAct Policy implementation
· Assist senior security professionals with activities for Checkpoint firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls and related network security infrastructure as directed, including:
Hardware and software installation
Hardware and software upgrades

 

Testing
· Compliance with relevant policies, procedures and standards
· Documentation of actions taken
· Adherence to change control procedures
· Monitoring and event handling, including escalation of security incidents in accordance with relevant procedures
· Contribute to product evaluations and proofs of concept
· Follow processes and procedures required in a regulated environment

 

Skills/Abilities

 · Ability to implement configuration changes on firewalls and network security equipment
· Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team in a collaborative environment
· Ability to communicate information security concepts across a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
· Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
· Experience with production troubleshooting
· Good communication and written skills.
·  Strong team player.
·  Ability to execute test scripts and test plans
· Ability to update and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams
· Understanding of WINDOWS and UNIX environments
· Ability to execute test scripts and test plans
 
· CISSP or other general security related certification is a plus
