Job Description
Our client is looking for a consultant.
System Analyst & System Administrator qualifications and work experience for developing a comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) procedures for the timely recovery and restoration of their IT applications and servers.
Comprehensive recovery plans addresses support for continuity of critical business operations, availability of personnel and necessary infrastructure. The plan includes documented business impact analysis, application recovery procedures, network recovery procedures, server recovery procedures and IT functional recovery guides. In addition, the implementation plan includes schedules for testing,employee training and plan maintenance requirements.
The DR guidance and procedures must be based on industry best practices and standards
PROJECT DELIVERABLES:
BUSINESS IMPACT ANALYSIS (BIA)
· Conduct BIA surveys with the Business owners and document criticality requirements for each of the application.
· Validate completeness of BIA results with the IT managers and Business Managers.
APPLICATION RECOVERY PROCEDURES
· Develop detailed application recovery procedures for applications that include documentation of:
o Hardware and software dependencies and configurations
o Application dependencies
o Database administration needs and tasks
o Application recovery instructions
SERVER RECOVERY PROCEDURES
· Develop detailed server recovery procedures for the servers that hosts applications that include documentation of:
o Identify specifications for recovery equipment
o Step by step restoration and recovery instructions
o Analysis of storage and backup strategies
DEVELOPMENT OF DR PLAN FOR IT APPLICATIONS
o Develop a written Disaster Recovery Plan to document the activities to be completed to restore applications to the alternate site
