PROGRAMMER


One of our manufacturing clients in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a Programmer with solid experience in either Python, C#, PHP and/or Java. The Programmer is responsible for developing dynamic software applications according to the needs of the business. The Programmer will write and test code, develop back-end applications, and integrate the various components of the user interface. The Programmer should strong expert in modern programming methods and have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming and/or Structured Querying Language (SQL), as well as good experience in using server-side logic. You must live within commuting distance from Lafayette Indiana. 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between business users and developers to ensure those customer requirements are translated to design specifications
  • Key contact for a core section of business functions to collect requirements and formulate an agreed business program
  • Map the business requirements to systems/technical requirements
  • Provide Software lifecycle support, including planning, project management, installation, ongoing management/monitoring/troubleshooting, and de-installation, following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards
  • Create a strong disciplined approach to application activities including Cyber Security
  • Serve as an intermediary between the development team, vendors, and business units
  • Ensure customer service is timely and accurate
  • Supervise development team with a focus on training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising each team member's performance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent experience
  • 2 + years of software programming experience
  • Experience with TSQL, PL/SQL, and/or SQL
  • Utilize knowledge of modern web-based languages (Python, PHP, C# and/or Java)
  • Expertise in managing projects leveraging different types of IT project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., Agile, Incremental, Waterfall)
  • The ability to multi-task and to prioritize is essential
  • Ability to manage and participate in projects with global corporate-wide impact
  • Serve as a process resource
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, clients, and customers
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to create, organize and implement new processes
