SYSTEMS ENGINEER
One of our clients based in NYC, a global information company is looking for an experienced systems engineer with 6+ years of experience working in a financial organization being responsible for monitoring and managing the Financial Markets production system. The Financial Markets System Engineer will work with a variety of Markets staff in addition to other staff such as Network Operations, Global Infrastructure, and outside Markets’ vendors. The focus of this position is to monitor and manage the hybrid technology Markets Production system. Monitoring will focus largely on the Markets proprietary Back-End system.
SKILLS NEEDED:
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of support experience, including support of escalated issues.
The Financial Markets System Engineer must have a solid understanding of computers, networking, and
technology. Candidates must have the ability to learn proprietary computer software, have excellent phone
skills and excel at troubleshooting and problem-solving in a highly technical, deadline-driven environment. The
Financial Markets System Engineer also must have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Solid familiarity with Windows and UNIX Operating Systems.
Ability to learn new Operating Systems and computer languages.
Ability to perform simple programming/scripting
Familiarity with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.
Good communications skills, including the ability to work with outside vendors or other teams at the company.
