SCRUM MASTER

One of our emerging technology clients in NYC is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to add to their team. This position focuses on guiding the team on how to best utilize Agile and Scrum practices, how to self-manage, and how to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile framework. The Scrum Master will lead and be responsible for championing Agile, Scrum, and self-management practices.  This individual will also be responsible for assessing the maturity of the team, assessing output, and will coach them, continuously striving for high performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and deep understating of how to apply Agile and Scrum practices and methodologies while creating an environment that empowers employees to achieve positive outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Lead and teach Agile and Scrum methodologies

·        Mentor and model behaviors for teams that support the organization's goals toward the Agile and Scrum adoption process

·        Work cross-functionally and establish strong business partnerships

·        Ensure the alignment of the team’s goals and objectives, while identifying areas of improvement

·        Facilitate continuous improvement including measuring team progress and identifying learning opportunities for team improvement

·        Work in Jira to create and facilitate the use of Agile boards and filters for the team to work from

·        Highlight risks of delivery and support the product owner to resolve or create contingency plans where appropriate

·        Advise and coach the product owner in the prioritization of work within the scope of their product

·        Remove impediments for the team to execute work

·        Be a champion of user experience

·        Work with the entire project team to support the health of the project backlog

·        Own the stand-up ceremonies and work with the product owner to decide on a meeting cadence that balances the need for communications and the workload that the project team is faced with

·        Own the sprint retrospective ceremony and continually work with the team to apply lessons learned during prior iterations

·        Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint

·        Work with all Scrum Masters to share information about what work is going on, what has been effective in terms of the agile approach and when work is getting done to identify potential conflicts

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

·        5 years’ experience working as a Scrum Master

·        Sound knowledge and experience with Agile, Scrum, methodology

·        Experience utilizing ClickUp, Jira, and Confluence

·        MS Office Suite

·        Design Thinking and Collaboration tools such as Slack

·        Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

·        Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate

·        Sound knowledge of program management and solution delivery

NICE TO HAVES:

·        Skilled at partnering with organizational leaders to understand their business objectives and goals for each respective project

·        Stellar written and verbal communication skills

·        Experience creating templates and documents, diagrams, roadmaps, that showcase the work and architecture of the team and application

·        Solid understanding of databases

·        Previous coders and programmers preferred

·        Cryptography Experience, PKI Experience, Blockchain, Payment Systems experience strongly preferred

·        Experience as an employee of a Major Cloud Service Provider

·        Experience in Financial Sector / Banking & Mortgage Industry Product Management

·        Extra for US Federal Experience, Military Experience
