Job Description
Veritas NetBackup Administrator
- Be responsible for configuration, implementation and administration of Veritas NetBackup and OpsCenter
- Act as SME on team for all NetBackup - related activities
- Perform capacity planning and assist with storage forecasting
- Oversee appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages and/or bug fixes.
Verify the configuration of NetApp NDMP devices and update policies to utilize the NetApp capabilities.
- You must have experience with Veritas Appliance, (AIR)Auto Image Replication, (SLP) Storage Life Cycle Policy and clustered master servers.
Job Description:
- Requires extensive knowledge of configuration, implementation and administration of Symantec NetBackup and OpsCenter.
- Requires strong understanding of MS SQL, Exchange VMware VMDK, NDMP, SharePoint, Enterprise Vault, Solaris, Linux, Windows and VMware backup.
- Requires good understanding of SAN block, file and WORM storage.
- Requires creating and configuring backup policy requirements.
- Maintaining and supporting Tape Libraries especially from Quantum LTO4 & 5.
- Maintenance of Disk-based PureDisk backup appliances.
- General administration of Storage environment and knowledge of multi-path, Fiber Channel and NAS.
- Perform capacity planning and assist with storage forecasting
- Enable DR replication solutions using synchronous and asynchronous.
- Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages and/or bug fixes.
- Verify the configuration of NetApp NDMP devices and update policies to utilize the NetApp capabilities.
- Establish De-Duplication policies using Symantec PureDisk and SLP tape-out configurations.
- Commission and Decommission new and old equipment
- Participates in identifying business requirements; ensures delivered information solutions meet performance engineering expectations.
- Recommends program/project release schedules based on knowledge of software development life cycle; delivers functionality and ensures the integrity of the overall system.
- Develops and implements guidelines for deployment of product, including written documentation.
- Performs document reviews to ensure effective and non-intrusive environment changes and demonstrates the ability to escalate needs when necessary
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience.

Minimum 8 years of experience in a technical hands-on system administration role.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a lead engineer supporting NetBackup.
